On Thursday, night at Kudlu in Parappana Agrahara, a 41-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased was identified as Umashankari. She was married to Kumaraswamy and the couple have a 14-year-old son. On Thursday evening, Kumaraswamy immediately took his wife to Jayanagar government hospital where she died.
Kumaraswamy narrated the police his wife had consumed sleeping pills as she was suffering from headache, and might have died of a drug overdose.
On the other hand, Umashankari’s mother Jayamma has lodged a police complaint claiming that her daughter was harassed by Kumaraswamy and his mother, forcing her to commit suicide.
Parappana Agrahara police have take into custody Kumaraswamy and his mother on the charges of abetting suicide.
