Woman covers car with cow dung to keep it cool

Ahmedabad: A resident in Ahmedabad went to extreme lengths to protect her vehicle from the rising temperature.

As the mercury in the western city of Ahmedabad crosses 45 degrees Celsius, the woman, identified as Sejal Shah coated her Toyota sedan completely slathered with cow dung to keep it cool in the summer, reported Indian Express.

One a Facebook user, Rupesh Gaurang Das, posted the images on the social media platform that quickly went viral.

He wrote, “Best use of cow dung I have ever seen. It’s in Amdavad.” “To counter 45 degree heat temperatures and protect car from getting hot Mrs Sejal Shah has plastered her car with cow dung. Getting cool,” added Das, who said the photos were taken in Ahmedabad.

From time immemorial, applying cow dung on floors and walls is a common practice in rural India. It is used for medicinal purposes, to ward off insects, and also as disinfectants. It is believed that coating it makes the structure remain warm in winters and cold in summers.
