Muzaffarnagar: A 25-year-old woman working at an ashram allegedly took her life by jumping into the Ganges river at Shukratal here, police said today.
Minu Tyagi took the extreme step yesterday, following which her body was fished out from the river and sent for post-mortem SP (Rural) Vinit Bhatnagar said.
According to the in-charge of the Durga ashram, Kamla Devi, Tyagi had been worried over some unspecified reason.
The victim also set her possessions afire before committing suicide, Devi said.
Investigation is on, police said.
