Kolkata: An elderly woman from Chhattisgarh, who came here on pilgrimage at the Ganga Sagar Mela on the occasion of the Makar Sankranti, died today, officials of the South 24 Parganas district said.
The woman, about 65-year-old, died of cardiac arrest, they said, adding that her name is not known.
Meanwhile, about seven lakh pilgrims have reached the Ganga Sagar Mela so far to take a holy dip on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti which is on Friday, the officials said.
