A tribal woman was allegedly burnt to death after she was accused of practising witchcraft at Jambani in West Midnapore district, the police said today.
The hut of 65-year-old Srimati Sabar was burnt last night when she was asleep at her hut at Barsol village, the police said.
Bimala Sabar and her husband Subol Sabar were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Srimati Sabar’s son.
Bimala and Subol had complained the elderly woman of having done black magic which was the cause of their grandson’s sickness, the police said.
