Pratapgarh, September 12: A case has been registered against six people, including the husband, for setting afire a woman for dowry in Kandhai area of the district.
The FIR was lodged with the Kandhai police last evening on the directions of Superintendent of Police Mohit Agarwal, police said today. As per the allegations, Rekha, who was wedded to Raj Kumar of Ranjitpur Pisniya village was burnt alive for dowry on August 30, 2002.
She had succumbed later in the hospital.
