Hindupur, February 07: In an unexpected turn to the triangular love story (as reported in these columns), Pavithra, who continued her love affair even after her marriage to her maternal uncle Dhananjay, attempted suicide last night. However, her alert mother Rukmini and other relatives foiled the attempt which was made in the house situated in Weaver’s Colony here. Rukmini said her daughter was heart-broken as she was ill-treated at the police station where the police had allegedly scolded her.
It is learnt that police made it clear to Pavithra and her husband Dhananjay, who was keen on uniting his wife with her lover, and Rukmini and other relatives that it was not possible to marry Pavithra off to her lover Gopi unless she divorced her husband. Yet, Dhananjaya and Rukmini insisted that the police unite the lovers.
