36-year-old, Khaja Begum, R/O of Balanagar mandal, Rajapur village, Mahboob Nagar district tried to commit suicide along with her 6 children. She is said to have mixed rat poison into the cold drink and drank it. She also made her four daughters, Mahmooda (10), Abida (8), Shaheen (5), Saba (8) and two sons Mastan (6) and Nawaz (15 months) drink the contaminated cold drink. She went to Dargah at Anasagar village at Bhootpur mandal and purchased the rat poison.
According to sources she took the extreme step as she was being harassed by her in-laws especially by husband. Local people shifted the woman and her children to the govt. hospital Mahboob Nagar. Khaja Begum worked as a labourer to eke out a livelihood while her husband is a boozer.
