A woman was injured after being attacked with acid by a man for refusing to lend him money, police said today.
he victim, Sushila Anil Kasbe and the attacker, Vishvas Pandurang Lavate, residents of Devlaligaon village
near here, knew each other.
Lavate had approached Kasbe a few days ago with a request to lend him Rs 50,000 for constructing house. However,
Kasbe had turned down the request. Angered by this, he threw acid on her last night, they said.
Kasbe suffered burn injures and shifted to a private hospital here, police said, adding Lavate is absconding.
Lavate’s brothers Krishna and Shirish are in jail in connection with a murder case, police added.
