Woman among three persons commit suicide

Giving Rs 600 loan to a friend proved fatal for a 30-year-old man as it consequently drove him to suicide.

The incident happened in Pudur of Ranga Reddy district in Chengomal police limits. The deceased, K Gowri Shankar, gave a loan of Rs 600 to his friend Muttu Naik a few days ago. However, when asked to repay the loan, Naik allegedly had an argument with him. Felt humiliated, Shankar committed suicide by setting himself ablaze. He took the extreme step on December 6 and died at the Osmania General Hospital on Wednesday night.

In another case, R Venkatesh, 24, who had set himself ablaze on September 29, died at a private hospital on Thursday. According to Market police, Venkatesh hailed from Karimnagar and came to Secunderabad on September 29. He attempted suicide on the backside of Kings Darbar hotel near Palika Bazar. The reasons behind the suicide are yet to be ascertained.

In a different ase, N Balamani, 45, died after consuming some unknown poison. She took the extreme step at her residence Bharat Nagar on December 7 and died at the OGH on Wednesday night. The reasons that led her to the extreme step are being ascertained, Amberpet police said.
