Washington, November 29: A woman from the US state of Georgia has claimed that she and Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain had a 13-year-long extramarital affair.
The 46-year-old female, named Ginger White, alleged on Monday that their affair continued almost until the former businessman announced his candidacy several months ago, the Associated Press reported.
“Here we go again. I didn’t do anything wrong,” Cain, however, said in response, claiming that he had been trying to help White financially.
The woman told Fox News in Atlanta that she had recordings of 61 phone calls or text messages to or from a number with the area code 678 that, she said, was Cain’s phone number.
After the initial report and Cain’s denial, White stated that Cain was not being truthful, adding, “That would be false… What I said in the interview was true.”
The television station said White had Cain’s name in her cellphone contacts and, when a reporter sent a text message to Cain’s number using her mobile, he had called right back.
Earlier in October, Cain denied accusations of sexual harassment leveled against him by several of his colleagues during his tenure as the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.
