Mumbai, October 09: Bollywood loves its bad boys, and the latest to come into its welcoming fold is actor Shiney Ahuja.
Within a week of his release from Arthur Road Jail, where he was lodged on charges of alleged rape, Bollywood is in talks with the tainted actor.
First off the block is his mentor Sudhir Mishra, who brought him fame with Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi, and subsequently Khoya Khoya Chand.
“I spoke to Shiney soon after he was released from jail,” said the film-maker. Mishra is all set to cast him in a film titled Hitman, which will go on the floors next year.
In the past, actors such as Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan have been at crossroads with the law, but that did not impact their brand equity as stars.
Ahuja has been ordered by the Bombay High Court to relocate to Delhi until his trial begins.
Mishra is currently in Delhi, finishing a thriller. He will begin work on Hitman soon after this venture gets completed.
The two had discussed the film before the actor was arrested. The duo had also planned to work on Devdas but the project was eventually shelved.
Mishra plans to contact Ahuja for the project in the next couple of weeks.
