Withdrawal of BSF camps from the area.

Koraput (Orissa), February 06: Chasi Muliya Adivasi Sangha (CMAS), an alleged Maoist-backed peasant organisation, took out a procession at Narayanpatna in Orissa’s Koraput district today demanding withdrawal of BSF camps from the area.

Around 3,000 CMAS activists along with panchayat functionaries comprising sarpanchs and ward members from Narayanpatna block participated in the procession and submitted a memorandum to the block development officer.

Release of all CMAS activists presently lodged in Koraput jail and developmental work in interior pockets of the block were among the other demands listed in the memorandum.

“The rally was peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported. Additional forces were deployed and elaborate security arrangements were made for the rally,” said DSP (Laxmipur) Y Jagannath Rao.
