Bengaluru: Software major Wipro Ltd has won a five-year deal with leading fine dining operator Speciality Restaurants Ltd to offer energy management services to reduce its operational costs.
“Our eco-energy business will implement the managed restaurant energy services programme across Speciality’s full service restaurants,” the city-based IT firm said in a statement here on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Mumbai-based Speciality operates 107 fine and casual dining restaurants in 25 cities across India, Bangladesh, Qatar and Australia. It also owns and operates confectionery stores. The company also went public in 2012 and its shares are listed on the BSE and NSE stock exchanges.
“We have rolled out the Wipro energy services programme in 12 restaurants with positive results. We will extend this engagement to our other restaurants to deliver unique experience to our clients while caring for environment,” said Speciality Executive Director Indraneil Palit in the statement.
Wipro’s energy services programme enables restaurants to monitor, control and optimise energy consumption on a real-time basis.
“As spiralling energy costs is a concern in the quick service sector, we can help restaurants set energy saving benchmarks, reduce operating expenditure and enhance end-customer experience,” said Wipro’s eco-energy Vice-President Syed Mansoor Ahmad.
