Willing to appear before Maha House panel: Kher

Mumbai, April 12: Actor Anupam Kher, who is facing a privilege motion in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for his alleged anti-Constitution remarks, today said he was willing to appear before the Privileges Committee.

“I have not been officially informed about the privilege notice, but was informed through the media. I am available whenever the Privileges Committee asks me to appear before them to clarify my remarks,” Kher told PTI.

The actor denied saying that the Constitution should be thrown out as alleged by NCP MLA Jitendra Avhad in the Lower House.

“I said the Constitution needs to be amended and there is nothing wrong in saying it. There have been 104 amendments so far. I am a law abiding citizen and will be happy to appear before the committee whenever asked,” he said.

“What I said was that the Constitution needs to change with times,” he added.
