Will usher in YSR golden era: Jagan

Throwing the gauntlet, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the Congress and TDP to go for elections and he will take the Samaikyandra slogan to win 30 MP seats as the mood from Kuppam from Srikakulam is for a united State and he asserted that he will bring back the golden era of YSR where all sections of people would be happy.

“Unmindful of the sentiments of the people, Sonia Gandhi has given the nod for the division of the State to see her son as Prime Minister and Chandrababu Naidu has been extending full support to her and Kiran Kumar Reddy has been following her as a true loyalist giving scant respect to local sentiments.

Call for the elections this moment and I will go to polls with the united state slogan and the two parties will bite dust as the policy of State division is irrational. This is my challenge,” YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said addressing a largely attended public meeting here on the New Year eve.

From Kuppam to Srikakulam, Samaikyandra is the slogan that has been reverberating while the far-flung Sonia Gandhi and natives Kiran Kumar Reddy and N Chandrababu Naidu have been pretending deaf. Sonia Gandhi is playing with the future of our children to make her son Prime Minister while the local leader opted to ignore the people’s choice, he said.

With water being the most contentious issue, we are not getting a drop of water unless Almatti and Narayanpur dams are full, if another state comes in between the region will become a desert. Farmers will be asking this pointedly to the Chief Minister and the leader of opposition.

Students will question them as to where they should go for jobs after studies if Hyderabad becomes alien to them. For 60 years, the capital is developed and if people are asked to vacate in ten years, the leaders are playing politics of convenience and not conviction.

When 50 % of the state revenue is coming from Hyderabad, where from will the money be raised for paying salaries to employees if the state is divided, he asked.

When YSR was alive the issue of a separate state was never raised as he has shown all round development. After his death politics have seen a deep slide with leaders like Chandrababau Naidu and Kiran Kumar Reddy directing the state polity.

Chandrababu Naidu has been holding public meetings and is diverting the attention by speaking not on the burning issue of state division but on election promises.

“People are not prepared to believe him as his past haunts him. He is known to keep away from the poll promises. He has done away with TDP poll promise of subsidized power to farmers, has lifted prohibition on some pretext or the other and poked fun when YSR has said that he would give free power to farmers.

He had a poor opinion on farmers and agriculture and during his term he has given 16 lakh pensions which were increased to 78 lakhs by YSR. Naidu lacks credibility and if he promises about free power, prohibition and free rice, people are not in a position to believe him.

It was YSR who has ushered in a golden era touching all sections of the society from farmers, women, students and artisans.

I challenge Naidu that he should go to elections with the achievement he acquired during his nine year rule and the result will be obvious. Present day politics are filled with intrigue and in the next elections we will win 30 MP seats and we will propose the name of the person who will agree to keep the state united.

“I also promise that the golden era of YSR will be brought back and the smile will be back on the faces of farmers, students, women and all sections of society,” he said. (INN)
