New Delhi: In the wake of media reports about fake Delhi Public Schools opening up in NCR, the body that runs the well-known institution today said it will take legal action against schools faking the ‘DPS’ initial and also create awareness on the issue through advertisements.
“The issue of fake schools coming in the name of ‘DPS’ was discussed at the meeting and the society has decided to address the issue with the help of stakeholders, take legal action, issue advertisements and go for any other action required to deal with such schools,” said Chairman of Delhi Public Schools Society, VK Shunglu.
A recent report claims that schools using the DPS initial, but having nothing to do with Delhi Public Schools Society, have come up in Gurgaon.
The DPS stakeholders, meanwhile, also decided to open 30- 40 new schools in different parts of the country. Presently, there are 190 DPS schools in the country.
“The Delhi Public Schools Society has decided to come up with 30-40 more DPS schools across the country. The decision was taken at the meeting of all the stakeholders of DPS society,” he said.
Pointing that no new school was opened by the DPS Society in the last one-and-a-half years, Shunglu said that the places where new schools will be opened have not been decided yet.
It was also announced at the meeting that an HRD centre in Greater Noida will be opened for training teachers.
