The protest by cab drivers of Ola and Uber today reached the Assembly with BJP leader Chinthala Ramchandra Reddy raising it on Friday.
The BJP member asked the State government to resolve the issues of the cab drivers, who were facing financial problems. The managements of Ola and Uber were forcing their drivers to work for 18 hours to 20 hours a day which was not possible and will have adverse effect on health, he expressed concern. These drivers are not able to make better business and facing financial problem due to lack of income.
Reacting to this, when Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary asked to react, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy said the State government was ready to look into the issue. “I will talk to the managements and drivers on protest”, the minister said. (NSS)
