IT and Industries Minister K Tarakarama Rao today made some sensational remarks with a rider saying that he would quit his ministerial post if the TRS fails to win in Palair bye-poll on May 16. However, he hastened to throw a challenge that PCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy should quit his post if the Congress candidate was defeated in the byepoll.
During his election campaigning in Palair Assembly constituency in Khammam district, the minister asked the Congress Chief to quit his post if his party gets defeated in the byepoll. “I will quit the minister post if the TRS candidate Tummala Nageshwar Rao was defeated in the elections”, he said He asked whether Uttam Kumar Reddy will quit his TPCC chief post if his party candidate Sucharitha Reddy, wife of late Ramredddy Venkat Reddy failed to win the poll.
Stating that the Congress, which is habituated to get defeated, was searching lame ducks for the defeat in the fray, he said the Congress was synonymous for defeat in the elections and was trying to violate poll code in the name of sympathy in vain, he said. KTR also alleged that the Congress has neither moral values nor any responsibilities and blindly contesting the polls.
“Nageshwar Rao will strive for developing the Palair segment and Khammam district if voted to power”, he said. Farmers and people flooded the roads in protest for fertilizers, seed and power when the Congress was in power. However the situation has completely changed as the TRS Government, under visionary Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s leadership, has tide over power problem in a short time besides putting adequate stocks of fertilizers and seed for farmers, he claimed.
