Lucknow: Words like ‘Dictatorship’, monarchy do define what the ruling BJP government, especially PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah are subjecting its Indian citizens to despite the nationwide outrage against the unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Indian PM Narendra Modi chose to turn a deaf ear to the voices against the contentious CAA despite the outrage, protests, economic fall down, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said the ruling government will not step back on the newly imposed legislation while addressing a rally in Lucknow, Indian Express reported.
“I want to say it again that the government is not going back on the CAA. Those who want to protest may continue doing so,” he said.
Home Minister Amit Shah refuses to reconsider
Shah alleged that Opposition parties are spreading lies about CAA, but failed to explain why in the first place any Muslim individual taken refuge in India will not be granted citizenship like other sections of religion.
He asserted that the legislation has nothing against the citizens of the country, while the Home Minister did not speak or explain why the Muslim community is precisely excluded from the new legislation.
“There is no provision of taking anyone’s citizenship in CAA. Canards being spread against CAA by Congress, SP, BSP, TMC,” Shah said.
Shah also said, “At the time of partition, Hindu, Sikh Buddhist and Jain constituted 30 per cent of population in Bangladesh and 23 per cent in Pakistan. But today, it’s just 7 per cent and 3 per cent, respectively. Where have these people gone? Those who are protesting against CAA, I want to ask them this.”
Shah claims anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in JNU campus but the government failed to prove its false allegations against the JNU students, staff.
The Home Minister also warned saying: “JNU mein desh virodhi naare lage. Mujhe batao jo Bharat Mata ke 1000 tukde karne ki baat kare use jail mein dalna chahiye ya nahi? Bharat Mata ke khilaaf is desh mein naare lage toh jail ki salakhon ke peeche daal dunga.”
