Will not contest elections till ‘T’ decision: Shabbir Ali

Former minister and Congress Coordination Committee member Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Monday said that he would not contest in the elections until the government announces a decision on the formation of separate Telangana state.

Talking to media persons, Shabbir Ali said that he has decided not to contest in the ensuing general elections if the government fails to announce a concrete decision on the Telangana statehood. However, he expressed confidence that the party would take a decision on the bifurcation of State once the Presidential elections conclude on July 19. He said that the party would fill up all nominated posts by August as per the recommendations of Danam Nagender Committee to strengthen the Congress party.

The former minister said that the government would also conduct elections to the local bodies soon. He also alleged that Nizamabad district failed to get medical college due to negligent attitude of officials.
