New Delhi, Sept.20 : Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD) leader Manoj Jha on Sunday said that the rollback of Land Acquisition Ordinance by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is a victory for the farmers and the common man, adding that his party would not allow any anti-people policy to be implemented.
“This is a historic moment as Congress as well as some of the allies of the NDA were opposed to the idea of Narendra Modi, who wanted to bring major amendments to the Land Bill. In fact, he brought four Ordinances. Apart from this victory of common people and farmers of this country, I think we should take a vow that we will not allow any anti-people policy by this government,” Jha told ANI here.
On the absence of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s Champaran rally yesterday, he said, “For us it was not an issue. The issue was that we made sure that our alliance present in the rally conveyed that we are here to safeguard the interest of the poor, backwards and the weaker sections. This message has alarmed the opposition and that’s why they are using an alibi to hide their discomfiture.”(ANI)
