Will launch 119 Phule Gurukul Schools on June 12 : Minister

The State Government will launch 119 Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Gurukul Schools across the State on June 12, Minister for Backward Classes’ Welfare Jogu Ramanna has said.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat here today, the minister said the Gurukul Schools will be opened in every Assembly constituency in the State for the benefit of children of the Backward Classes. The students in these schools will be prepared on global standards with English medium and take on any other corporate school students in the examinations in future, Ramanna said. He also said the schools will provide quality education with English Medium to the BCs as dreamt by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

It was estimated that a total of 28,520 students will benefit from these schools. The State government aims to increase their number to 76,000 in four years, he said. English medium will be started for V, VI and VII Classes and the schools will be upgraded into junior colleges in future. The Gurukul Schools will get all modern facilities like computer lab, library, basic infrastructure and each school will have 240 students, he said. He also said they have completed the process of filling vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff for the schools. He pointed out that BC Gurukuls surpassed other Gurukul Schools in terms of results in SSC and Intermediate examinations. (NSS)
