Vijayawada: AP Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu today said some political leaders, who wanted to be partners in the development of the State, were joining the TDP.
Speaking at the party workers’ meeting here on Tuesday, Chandrababu said some more leaders are expected to join the ruling party soon. Political leaders, who are genuinely interested in the development of the residuary State and aiming to serve the people, are joining the TDP. “Such developments often occur in politics. We will welcome those who believe that the TDP can develop the State into a “Navyandhra” State, he added.
In a bid to allay doubts of the local leaders, he assured them that they would not face any problems if other leaders are joining the party. “The present strength of 175 MLAs seats would be increased to 225. For me the party is most important than my family and every body should work with dedication for the government as well as for the party”, he emphasized.
Some leaders from East Godavari and Srikakulam districts joined the TDP in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu, who warmly welcomed them with party shawls. Former MLA Baggu Laxman Rao from Srikakulam district and Boddu Bhaskar Ramarao’s son Venkatramana from East Godavari joined the TDP. Venkatramana, who contested on YSRCP ticket from Rajahmundry Lok Sabha constituency in last election, was defeated.(NSS)
