Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that he will use all his efforts to see that Benti has all round development and turns out to be a role model village.
“I am fortunate that under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana scheme I am able to adopt Benti village. …..I would give all my efforts to see all round development of this village,” he told a gathering here.
He rued the fact that the country’s leaders did not live upto their promises and felt that had they even did it partially then the nation would have become developed.
“In public addresses I do not give any assurances, that’s because in independent India the biggest irony is that leaders did make promises, but did not even fulfill it partially. Had they even fulfilled their promises partially then the country would have turned out to be a developed nation. All I can say that I will give my entire efforts to see that this Benti village turns out to be a role model,” he added.
Under the scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Members of Parliament (MPs) of urban areas can adopt villages in other places as well.
Recently, during a visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had adopted Jayapur village. (ANI)
