In the wake of cold waves are at peak during Winter, State Government has taken a decision to distribute blankets to the students in Gurukul schools, model school hostels, Kasturba Gandhi Schools.
During a review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari directed the officials to distribute blankets to the students by December 15. About 1,04,405 students will get the blankets for which the State government will spend an estimated Rs 2.5 crore. While there are 74282 students in Kasturba schools, 15,562 students in model school hostels and 17,561 students in Gurukul schools. (NSS)
