Ahmedabad (Gujarat): Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal, after holding a meeting with Patidar leader Hardik Patel on the politically sensitive issue of OBC quota for the community, revealed that they are going to meet again after three days to discuss the possible solutions.
“It was a very healthy meeting which went on for around two and a half hours. Both of us presented our concerns before each other,” Sibal said in a Press Conference in the wee hours of Thursday, adding, “We will discuss the possible solutions in another meeting three days later.”
The former Union Minister added, “We will do whatsoever possible if their demand falls under the constitution of India.”
Hardik had earlier given the Congress Party an ultimatum to declare its stand on OBC quota for Patidars by November 7. Patel had said he will declare his stand on electoral support for the party on the basis of their stand on OBC reservation.
With just a few days left in the Gujarat elections, both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are trying to win the confidence of the Patidar community, which account for a major vote share in the state. (ANI)
