Will continue to fight on people’s woes: Kodandaram

Unfazed by attacks by ministers and TRS leadership, TJAC chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram today vowed to continue to work for the cause of people of Telangana and fight for addressing their issues.

After a meeting on JAC future course of action, Prof. Kodandaram told mediapersons that he was not afraid of TRS leadership and instead will make all-out efforts to strengthen his outfit, which is not affiliated to any political party right now. Smoothly turning down the criticism by some ministers and TRS leaders, Kodandaram said, “Instead of being told by others, I am capable of making suggestions to them. The JAC is not afraid of any obstacles or attacks and set to fight against the government on various issues, he asserted.

Opposing inspections conducted by police in private educational institutions in violation of High Court orders, Prof. Kodandaram said there is a need for control on fee structure and other issues. The State government was pooling lands in violation of the Land Acquisition Act and causing troubles to the ousters of Mallanna Sagar, he said the JAC will hold a round table meet on the displaced people of Gajwel.

Demanding that the State government make online detailed project reports (DPRs) of the projects and extend support to Telangana advocates for demanding bifurcation of the High Court which is pending for two years, Prof. Kodandaram said they will approach Green Tribunal against the opencast mining. “There are problems in Education and other sectors and the JAC would make a persistent fight”, he clarified. “There are no vice-chancellors in the varsities and it was decided to hold a seminar on related issues. The government has to show livelihood for the people as it increased salaries manifold to the government employees, he demanded. (NSS)
