Will bring Congress back to power: VHR

Hyderabad, June 05: Thanking Congress president Sonia Gandhi on behalf of all the four members (who include sitting MPs Union minister Jairam Ramesh, former chief minister N Janardhan Reddy, JD Seelam and himself) for being renominated for the Rajya Sabha polls, senior Telangana Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today asserted that they would strive to bring Congress back to power again in the state under the leadership of Rosaiah in 2014 elections.

Talking to newsmen after filing nomination papers for Rajya Sabha seats at the State Assembly here, Hanumantha Rao said that the Congress would stall the TDP from coming into power in 2014 polls.

As newlyelected members, they have the responsibility to campaign for the developmental and welfare programmes undertaken by the Congressled UPA Government to the people, and would ensure towards implementation of the same in the state during the next six years.

Asked whether he is intended to bring back the Congress into power again in 2014 elections under the leadership of Rosaiah or in two separate states (after formation of Telangana), the Rajya Sabha member said that he would respond to the state’s bifurcation issue only after seeing the Srikrishna committee’s report. “I am not an astrologer to tell about the future,” he added.

Sitting MP JD Seelam asserted that they would work like ‘Congress soldiers’ during the next six years and would work with a commitment towards strengthening the party both in the state and the country. “I take this as an opportunity to serve the people,” he noted.
