Wildlife activist Billy Arjan Singh passes away

Dudhwa, January 02: Eminent wildlife activist Billy Arjan Singh passed away on January 1, 2010 at Dudhwa National Park based his residence. Sing was 94.

According to the family sources, he died late Friday night at his home ‘Tiger Haven’ due to old-age illness.

He was born in Gorakhpur on August 15, 1947. He was felicitated with Padma Shri in 1995 for his efforts towards wildlife conservation in India. Singh also received global honour JP Getty Wildlife Conservation award by World Wildlife Fund.

He was also honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2006. He hogged limelight for his pet tigress ‘Tara’.
