Why TRS MPs, & KCR not resigned for Separate State?

Hyderabad, June 27: Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana has prophesied that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi would retain majority of the seats in the byelections to the Assembly. It would not be a clean sweep for the TRS, nor the result would have any bearing on the formation of Telangana state, he said.

Speaking to press persons here today, he said the CPI would not contest the elections as its results would have no impact in the state, he said.

He wondered why the TRS MPs, including the party supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao, had not resigned in support of the party MLAs if they were really committed to the separate state issue.

The CPI would maintain a neutral stand and not issue a whip to the party workers on whom to vote in the byelections. Disclosing the resolutions passed at the threeday party state council meeting in the city, he said that they would launch Bhuporatam (land struggle) at 150 centres in the state on July 5.

Narayana said that they would strive to distribute 1.5 lakh acres in the state to the poor and needy.

The Communist leader demanded the state government to provide pucca houses to all hutdwellers.

He asked the Congress leaders not to politicise the Polavaram project and alleged that some Congress leaders were raising a hue and cry over the issue for gaining political mileage.

Criticising the state industrial policy for the next five years, Narayana said that they would strongly oppose the sanctioning of agriculture land to the Special Investment Zones (SIZ) and demanded a scientific approach for rehabilitating the SIZ displaced persons. He demanded proper distribution of seeds to farmers in the state as agriculture operations for the kharif season have begun.
