Why strings on crop loans? Asks DK Aruna

Former minister DK Aruna today alleged that the TRS Government was now trying to confuse and mislead the farming community in Telangana State on loan waiver.
Talking to media persons here on Thursday, Aruna demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao keep his first promise of waiving crop loans without any conditions. She found fault with the TRS Government for stating that it proposes to waive the loans taken during June 2013 to June 2014. The farming community is awaiting government help now as they are bearing the brunt of non-clearance for the past four years. The farmers in Telangana invested money for agriculture by selling their assets and mortgaging gold ornaments. The TRS government should clear all loans of farmers.
The former minister sought to know as to why KCR wants to have time conditions. The Government should waive all loans instead of clearing only for one year. In Telangana, farmers have taken loans to the tune of Rs 45,000 crores, according to information. (NSS)
