YSR Congress leader Gattu Ramachandra Rao has questioned Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy as to why he did not accompany late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy though he was scheduled to do so as the Speaker when the former was killed in helicopter crash. He questioned whether Kiran Kumar Reddy knew about the accident in advance.
Gattu was condemning the statement of PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana that YSR’s wife Vijayamma and son Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy must have planned the crash to kill him. Stating that the Congress leaders were indulging in immoral politics, he said that they had their own doubts about YSR’s death and instead of answering them, the Congress leaders were making heinous allegations. Gattu said that some Congress leaders, who had the stature of earthworms when YSR was alive, had now turned into venomous serpents. He said that they were unable to digest the fact that Y S Vijayamma was receiving tumultuous welcome wherever she went and were making senseless allegations. He exuded confidence that his party would sweep all the 18 seats.
USING POLICE TO TORMENT YSRC LEADERS: AMBATI
Meanwhile, YSRC official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu has said that TDP and Congress leaders were jealous of the public support Vijayamma was receiving and were using police to trouble his party leaders. Stating that they had doubts about YSR’s death, Rambabu said that it was the duty of the government and the ruling party to clear them. He faulted the Congress party for having gone back on its promise of helping the families of 700 persons, who lost their lives unable to bear the tragic death of YSR.
Another YSRC leader Gone Prakash Rao told the media at Guntur that there would be mid-term polls after the by-elections. Referring to the survey of Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on the by-polls, Gone said all his surveys were bundles of blunders. He said there would be soon a big exodus of MLAs into the YSR Congress and this would cause mid-term polls. He challenged the government to conduct panchayat and municipal polls if it had guts. (NSS)
