Why did Chidambaram promised for a separate state: Keshava Rao

Hyderabad, September 26: Increasing the pressure on UPA Govt. Senior Congress leader Dr. K. Keshava Rao heartily criticized Chidambaram who had promised for a separate state of Telangana but he did not fulfill his promise. Life in the Telangana Region came to a standstill on account of train and bus services disruption but the centre did not change its attitude. The Congress leader adopted a harsh tone and asked if the Congress didn’t want a separate state, then why did Chidambaram promise on 9th December 2009. He also criticized the statement of Chidambaram in the parliament when he said that the Central Govt. has not taken any stand on Telangana issue. He also charged him of not ascertaining the facts. He told that congress had passed a resolution in 2001 that there are legitimate reasons for the formation of a separate Telangana state. He further said that the patience of the Congress leaders has reached its maximum.

BJP spokesperson Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad has assured that BJP would support Telangana bill if it is presented in the parliament and he has also said that in case BJP assumes power, separate state of Telangana would be formed.
