TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu today said he wanted to know why Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director called on AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Digvijay Singh. Was Singh master of the CBI?, he questioned while talking to the media at his party headquarters here.
The TDP chief alleged that the Congress has been utilizing the services of the CBI for its political gains. The comments of Congress leaders on Y S Jaganmohan Reddy clearly indicate that the Congress and Jagan had a secret deal, Naidu said and reminded that Digvijay had said Jaganmohan Reddy was a DNA of his party while Veerappa Moily did not rule out an alliance with the YSRCP.
Alleging that the Congress has mortgaged the country for its political mileage, the TDP chief said the country’s premier investigating agency has been protecting corrupt and those who fleece the people and the ruling party also using the CBI against its opponents. Raising a question on the memo submitted by the investigating agency in the CBI court when arguments on the bail petition of Jagan were being heard, Naidu said.
There was no comparison between charge-sheets filed earlier in disproportionate assets case of Jagan and the memo, he said, adding that both have totally different in character.
Referring to Telangana, Naidu said there were contradictory statements on the visit of Antony committee to the State. One leader says Antony committee would visit to elicit concern of two regions while another says the committee members would not come to the State.
The TDP chief suggested that Antony committee should resolve problems being faced by the people of two regions by calling of a meeting of JAC leaders of two regions. (NSS)
