Why BJP always benefits in the event of EVM malfunction: Cong president Ajay Maken

New Delhi: As the ABVP has swept the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) elections Congress protested against Modi government, Election Commission and companies supplying EVM machines. Congress president Ajay Maken has accused ABVP of EVM tampering and demanded the re-elections on paper ballots. Addressing AICC press conference on Friday he demanded that fresh DUSU polls should be conducted on the paper ballot. He also called for on-camera counting.

NSUI national President Feroz Khan Congress in-charge for Delhi University elections Richi Gupta were also present at the press conference.

The state Congress president also asked why the BJP always benefited in the event of EVM malfunction. Why Congress never benefitted due to faulty EVMs.

He also said that an EVM showed votes in a non-existent ballot number 10 when the total number of ballots was nine. He told that 9 candidates contested for secretary post but 40 votes went to ballot no 10. How could it be possible? When there were only 9 contestants from where the 10th button emerged from? He asked.
