Why Baba Ramdev wants politics?

New Delhi, August 04: The decision by Yoga guru, Baba Ramdev to jump into politics has created restlessness among different political parties who are opposed to his idea. Baba Ramdev wants to cleanse politics by inclusion of honest and brave people in it. This would eradicate corruption prevalent in today’s politics and also give it a moral standing.

Entrance of Baba Ramdev into politics in the near future would be welcomed by the people who desire that moral values should also guide the politicians.

However, a question arises as to from where the Baba would get people who are well educated and have a good image in the society. And in case the Yoga Guru does get such people, then would they retain their good image once the Baba’s party comes into power?

In fact, today it would not be proper to expect moral values from the people who are in power, as they have consigned the moral values to the dustbin. Even people in power, who bray about honesty on and of, do not raise voice against corruption in their own governments. In case they do raise a voice, they would be forced to leave the government and the administration.

Recently, well-known Jain seer, while addressing journalists in Bhopal, said that corruption had become a part of the people in power. It is a bitter truth and should be accepted.

To my mind, Baba Ramdev should not enter into politics. he and his followers should support leaders who have a good image in the society even if they be affiliated with any party. Besides, Baba Ramdev and his workers should run a drive against corruption in the government and administrative machinery, expose people leading a luxurious life, against social evils like dowry, domestic violence, child marriage, female foeticide, exploitation, untouchability, veil system etc. Meetings and rallies should be organised for this purpose. He should inspire the people to organise themselves to solve their various problems and force the elected people’s representatives to always remain alert and active in the interest of the people and the nation’s Constitution.

The life of people living in villages is pitiable. Baba Ramdev and his followers should tour villages and help in solution of various problems being faced by the people there. They should help to improve the living standars of the people. They can also help the government by reporting it about the implementation of various welfare schemes. The shortcomings should be pointed out and overcome by pursuing the matter without giving it up.

Baba should be liberal in taking help of the media, both visual and print, in making his views known to the masses. People should be made bold so that they oppose any kind of injustice that would be meted out with them.
