Why is Arshad Warsi working with newcomers?

Mumbai, April 03: A few weeks back Arshad Warsi delivered a successful film (ISHQIYA) with first time director Abhishek Chaubhey. He couldn’t quite repeat the same feat with Kabeer Kaushik even though he worked with him in his first film SEHER and now HUM TUM AUR GHOST.

Still, Arshad hasn’t lost his confidence in first timers and has now agreed to work with Bejoy Nambiar who is all set to make a gritty thriller where the actor would be enacting the role of a cop.

“Sometimes it so happens that you meet a person and immediately react that ‘Arrey yaar, you should be a director’. Bejoy is one such person because he is so sorted that one look at him and you know that he can deliver goods. He is a debutant director but I am sure he would do justice to this film”, says Arshad.

Arshad’s confidence comes with a good reasoning after all. Bejoy’s claim to fame has been a short film called REFLECTIONS that he made with Mohanlal. Also, he had bagged an internship with none other than Hollywood producer Ashok Amritraj. His personal life though had seen a bumpy ride in recent times as after a courtship and subsequent marriage with Juhi Babbar, he soon got divorced from her last year. Nevertheless, professionally he has seen a new milestone in his career with Arshad being a pillar a support.

“This is a kind of film which should satisfy the actor in me”, says Arshad in a hopeful tone, “Though I am yet to listen to the script in detail, I am sure Bejoy would come up with something really mind blowing. Everyone with whom I have spoken has shared good recommendation about him. As an assistant to Mani Rathnam, he definitely knows the craft.”
