Whither promise of construction of ramp utpo Koh-e-Maula Ali?

Hyderabad boasts 7 major hills and each one has its own significance. There is a beautiful hill located 2017 feet above the sea level at a distance of 16 km from Hyderabad. The hill has been named after Prophet Mohammed’s son-in-law and the fourth khalifa Hazrat Ali (RAA). The hill has a shrine and the historical books disclose that it was built during Asif Jahi period.

Since the over 400-year-old historic shrine is on top of the hill the devotees have to climb 550 steps all the way up. On June 11, 2013 GHMC Mayor and other public representatives after visiting the shrine had announced construction of ramp upto Koh-e-Maula Ali within a month. Although 9 months have passed after that, sadly not even the foundation stone has been laid let alone the beginning construction.

Thousands of people irrespective of religion arrive at the shrine daily. And the devotees, especially aged ones, have been facing problems in reaching the spot. It must be noted that 232 acre land is endowed under Koh-e-Maula Ali shrine.
