When the old library Barkas will be reconstructed?

The Barkas library established in 1966 is counted among the oldest libraries of Andhra Pradesh but sadly this old and valuable library has reached its most dilapidated state.

Chief minister Mr. N Kiran Kumar Reddy had announced to modernize the library for the benefit of residents of Barkas in general and students in particular, but the promise is still unfulfilled though he had even laid the foundation stone for its reconstruction to transform it into e-library.

It must be recalled that on February 2, 2011 addressing a grand public meeting at Barkas ground under Rachchabanda programme, chief minister had showered promises for the development of Barkas and Muslims.

4 months after the programme once again the chief minister visited Barkas and laid the foundation of e-library and announced that the extraordinary library will be constructed within one year. But unfortunately let alone completion, the construction has not even begun till date.
