Wheat prices improve on fresh buying

New Delhi, May 01: Wheat prices rose up to Rs 20 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on fresh buying from flour mills. However, rice basmati and jowar declined on sluggish demand against adequate stock positions.

Marketmen said, increased offtake by flour mills mainly helped wheat prices to trade higher. Meanwhile, the expectations of a normal monsoon and increased arrivals from producing regions restricted gains.
