Patna: Tejaswi Yadav, Bihar Deputy CM, said he plans to use instant messaging app WhatsApp as a new tool to help in repairing roads in the State. He said “In Bihar, people can now directly Whatsapp the conditions of roads under the Output and Performance Based Road Assets Maintenance Contract (OPRMC) to bring more quality & efficiency.”
The 26-year-old minister has released a WhatsApp number (9470001346) for people to click and post pictures of bad and patchy roads, which will help officials to trace down untidy roads in the state quickly and get it fixed. As per the road construction department officials in the state, Yadav has been using WhatsApp as a platform aggressively to ensure maximum engagement of people in helping the concerned state agencies in repairing broken roads.
Yadav has also used social media in the past to help an engineering student from Sitamarhi district to get his pending scholarship through Facebook.
