Sharm el-Shiekh (Egypt), July 15: The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit scheduled to begin in Egypt on Wednesday is yet another multilateral summit virtually sidelined by the India-Pakistan equation.
As Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistani Prime Minister address the summit on Wednesday, all eyes will be on the statement they will make on Thursday after meeting each other on the sidelines.
According to Indian official sources, a “very positive statement” could be in the offing:
The two foreign secretaries are meeting for a second time on Wednesday
Speculation is rife that Singh and Gilani will issue a joint statement together
sources also indicate they will address the media together after their meeting
