On charges of match-fixing with the YSR Congress, Botcha said there was no such need for the Congress party. Recalling that the YSR Congress leaders, who had earlier said that Congress was harassing Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, had changed their version during the Presidential election, Botcha said that the people were observing that party’s double standards. He also asserted that the YSRCP was Congress party’s rival.
When asked about TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao’s statement that Telangana would be a reality in August or September, Botcha said there was nothing wrong in his statement. He said that he could be confident of emergence of Telangana as a movement leader and he could not be faulted. On local body elections, he said these would be held after clearance from the court. He said that Congress would take along all those who support the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Referring to the criticism of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu against the Congress, Botcha said that Naidu was not a stable person. Referring to the Dharmana Prasada Rao Committee appointed to study the recent by-election results, Botcha said the committee had already prepared a report and would soon submit to the party leadership. However, he clarified that the Dharmana committee was not a committee of ministers, but only a party committee.
On the proposed dharna of YSR Congress honorary president Vijayamma in Sircilla on handloom weavers’ problems, Botcha said she was undertaking it only for political benefit. (NSS)
