Makkah: A 60-year-old Belgian woman who convert to Islam, during the month of Ramadan said she was fascinated by “bonds of relations” among Muslims.
She said she found back what she had lost in her life in the last 50 years as a Christian.
“What fascinated me to Islam was the thrust to establish bonds of relations among its followers and their gestures of reciprocal mercy and compassion, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.”
“What I have lost in my life in the past five decades as a Christian, I now find in Islam”, she said while talking to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Hailing from the city of Antwerp, the elderly woman express gratitude to Sheikh Abdullah Al-Anzi, a preacher sent by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance to the European country, for his efforts and help he extended to learn and understand about Islam.
After pronouncing of the Shahada (the testimony of faith) amid shouts of Allahu Akbar by the crowds of worshippers present, the woman thanked Al-Anzi for his advice and prayers.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, under its annual Ramadan program, has dispatched a total of 60 imams to lead prayers in Muslim communities in 37 countries globally. This Ramadan, Al-Anzi is the imam sent to Belgium as part of the program.
