Western Army Commander takes stock of field formations deployed along China border

New Delhi [India]: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lieutenant General Surinder Singh visited field formations deployed along the International Border with China in Himachal Pradesh on October 16-18.
While reviewing the operational readiness of the formations in the forward areas, Lieutenant General Singh had detailed deliberations with field commanders and interacted with troops.

The Army Commander appreciated the high state of operational readiness and the motivation and morale of troops despite the difficult terrain and extreme weather conditions.

He exhorted the troops to remain alert and operationally ready and emphasised the need to ensure infallible security measures and to be ready for all contingencies.

Lieutenant General Singh met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday and also had a meeting with Lieutenant General D.R. Soni, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command. (ANI)
