Welfare State thru’ Rs 28,000 cr: KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today proudly announced that Telangana State is the first State in the country to allot a whopping Rs 28,000 crore for the welfare sector alone. “I am very happy to extend you greetings on the occasion of first anniversary of achieving separate State after a protracted struggle involving sacrifices. Our aim now is to achieve golden Telangana through welfare and development”, he declared.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at Telangana State first anniversary celebrations. KCR declared that his aim is to make Telangana a welfare State through ample use of workforce and resources to ensure that fruits of labor and development reach the unreached.

Ridiculing the previous government of failing to implement welfare schemes, the Chief Minister alleged that “fat” leaders used to distribute only “fat” rice to the people through ration shops. “However, we are being ‘slim’ began distributing “fine rice” to the poor and deprived class in the State unmindful of the expenditure”, he stated. KCR also claimed that their efforts are getting fructified through active implementation of welfare schemes – Aasara pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak for providing financial assistance to girls of SC, ST and Minorities respectively.

“The Telangana State is an ideal for the entire nation in implementing a sizeable number of welfare schemes. We have initiated flagship programs of Mission Kakatiya to restore 46,000 lakes and water bodies, 300 crore saplings to be planted as part of Harithaharam project for afforestation and greenery. We successfully resolved power crisis in just six months and efforts are on to achieve self-sufficiency in the power sector”, he added.
