Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Textiles Panabaka Lakshmi on Tuesday said that the officials and party workers have totally failed to take the government’s welfare schemes to the doorsteps of genuine beneficiaries.
Talking to media persons as part of her visit to Gudivada in Krishna district, Panabaka Lakshmi alleged that the officials and workers failed to popularise the welfare schemes and in taking the benefits of them to doorsteps of targeted beneficiaries. She said that all the welfare schemes in the State were implemented with financial assistance of the Centre.
Responding to drubbing of party in the recent by-elections, the Union Minister said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana have appointed a Ministerial Committee to find out the reasons for party’s failure. The committee, she said, would make recommendations to rejuvenate the party and gear up it for 2014 general elections.
Stating that the Congress party has a history of 125 years, she said that the party would not suffer a major damage due to the resignation of a few leaders. She expressed confidence that the party would win a majority of seats in 2014 general elections. (INN)
