Welfare schemes can change the life style of Minorities

Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman A.P.State Minorities Commission told that if the benefits of Welfare schemes reach the beneficiaries, the life style of Minorities would be changed and their backwardness could be removed. He was delivering his presidential address at the meeting of Minorities welfare organizations. Former Rajya Sabha member, Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha, General Secretary of Insaf organization, Mr. Meer Uddin Baig, organizers of the function, Mr. M. Siddiqui and Mr. Muqtar Hussain also spoke on this occasion.

Continuing his speech Mr. Abid Rasool Khan told that Govt. has many welfare schemes which are likely to be announced later. So far, the Govt. has announce welfare schemes for the improvement of educational standards and economic conditions of Minorities. He informed that Minority Students are being provided Rs.4 lakh per head as loan with out any Guarantee from the banks. Govt. has also instructed the banks to grand loans to small traders to the extend of Rs.10, 000 to 20, 000. After filling the applications in bank they should keep a copy of their applications with them. If the banks do not sanction loans with in a stimulated time, they can inform the Minorities Commission. He said all forms can be obtained from the office of the commission at Secretariat from 3 to 5 p.m.

Mr. Abid Rasool Khan told that Govt. is sincere in extending the benefits of Welfare schemes to Minorities but due to the lethargy of the Govt. officials, the benefits of these schemes do not reach the public.

Mr. Aziz Pasha told that Minorities candidates are neglected not in Govt. offices but also in private sector. Mr. M.Siddiqui gave the details of the injustices and the discriminatory treatment meted out to Minorities at Regional and National level. He told that Minorities have high hopes with Mr. Abid Rasol Khan. A large number of people attended the function.
