Welfare Party of India has decided to contest for 25 assembly and 5 parliamentary constituencies. Meanwhile talks with some parties for poll alliance are on. Malik Motasim Khan state unit president Welfare Party of India told that consultation for contesting on two Lok Sabha and remaining assembly constituencies is underway within the party. He said the decision to contest from Amberpet, Rajendrangar, Jubilee Hills assembly constituencies and Secunderabad parliamentary constituency is almost final. Apart from that possibilities for contesting from other assembly constituencies and Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat are being discussed. However the final decision will be taken in top level meeting of the party.
Mr. Khan said that the names of candidates for 16 assembly constituencies have been finalized so far while there is possibility of WPI contesting from Nizamabad, Zaheerabad, Kurnool, Machlipatnam and Vijayawada Lok Sabha seats. Candidates aspiring to contest from other constituencies are also approaching. Malik Motasim Khan has termed their participation in the government imperative for equality and justice to minorities in Telangana state.
